My name is Destiny Benson, and I’m a former public-school teacher and a homeschool parent of six years who is deeply passionate about expanding educational opportunities for families. I am the founder of Voices in Education Networking for Tomorrow (VENT) and serve as the Founder and Executive Director of the South Texas Institute of Christian Education. As a wife, educator, and community leader, I’m committed to building a strong network of educators and organizations that support homeschooling and hybrid learning, helping families connect with the many valuable resources available throughout the local area.
My Experience
As a first-time homeschool parent searching for a co-op and homeschool resources, I remember how overwhelming it felt. Even as a certified teacher, stepping into the homeschool world was scary, and at times I felt completely without support. After making phone calls and spending countless hours researching co-ops, curriculum, and local learning communities, I finally found hope and the connections I needed. My journey is the story of so many families, and it’s exactly why we do what we do. We’re working to bring trusted educational resources together in one place, making it easier for families to find support, guidance, and community.
